Dr Cara MacMullin BSc. ND
A native of Cape Breton Island, Dr. Cara MacMullin ND, graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Science Advanced Major in Biology. From here, she went on to complete the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Cara has been in practice since 2006, previously working for many years in a busy downtown Toronto practice before relocating to Clarington in 2013 to begin a family with her husband.
A Mother of two small children, Cara feels passionately about educating families on health and wellness. Today’s environmental and social landscape can make it difficult to determine the healthiest choices for your family. Having to navigate this with her own family, Cara hopes to be able to relay this valuable information to patients and their families. She has added experience in women’s health, thyroid disorders, hormone balance, and weight management and also has a special interest in fertility, pre/postnatal care for Mom and baby, and pediatrics.
Cara believes strongly in a patient-centered and integrative approach to health and well-being, and encourages patients to be active participants in their individualized plans. Knowledge is essential in one’s journey to optimal health and wellness, and she will continually work to educate and empower patients to elicit change, thereby improving the quality of their lives.
Cara maintains a healthy and active lifestyle with her partner and two sons. Time with family is spent cycling, hiking, and ensuring they regularly get a health dose of nature and outdoor play.
Dr. MacMullin ND, is licensed and in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO).
Dr Emily McLaughlin BSc ND
Dr. Emily McLaughlin ND, holds a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University majoring in Kinesiology and Psychology. Emily is also certified in facial cosmetic acupuncture. During her studies, she was selected as an intern on the integrative cancer care focus shift. Along with cancer care, additional areas of interest include anxiety, digestion, pain, and sports medicine. Regardless of the health mysteries her patients experience, she is determined to find a solution that is congruent with her patients needs.
Emily believes that when people create an environment within and around themselves that is conducive to health, they achieve a state of optimal balance between health, work, and play. Emily’s ultimate goal is for each patient to rediscover aspects of their life that they have been less able to enjoy due to health challenges. This is achieved through the creation of an evidence-based treatment plan that is holistic and custom to each individual patient. She believes in empowering patients to be active members in their healthcare journey. Emily provides patients with knowledge and skills that can be used in day-to-day life, which helps to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness in both themselves and their loved ones.
Dr. Emily McLaughlin ND, is registered and in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario, Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors, and Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
