Dr Cara MacMullin BSc. ND
is passionate about working with women to empower them to gain control, connect with themselves, achieve clarity, and reach a state calm with their hormones, health, and well-being.
A native of Cape Breton Island, Dr. Cara MacMullin ND, graduated from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia with a Bachelor of Science Advanced Major in Biology. From here, she went on to complete the Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Cara has been in practice since 2006, previously working for many years in a downtown Toronto practice before relocating to Clarington in 2013 to begin a family with her husband.
Dr. MacMullin’s experience includes spending six years working in a busy downtown clinic focused on women’s health, weight management, and hormone balance. Cara has a passion for helping women through life’s transitions and the hormone fluctuations that predominate during these times. From painful menstrual cycles and mood fluctuations of adolescence to the metabolic, mood and physical changes of the menopausal transition, Cara works to support these changes for women to make these times a more positive time in their lives.
She has added experience in thyroid disorders and also has a special interest in fertility, miscarriage, pre/postnatal care for Mom and baby, and pediatric care including ADHD, skin conditions, and immune health. Cara is also certified in Facial Rejuvenation acupuncture, a natural technique using acupuncture to treat the signs of aging and improve your skin’s tone and vitality.
Cara believes strongly in a patient-centered and integrative approach to health and well-being and encourages patients to be active participants in their individualized plans. Knowledge is essential in one’s journey to optimal health and wellness, and she will continually work to educate and empower patients to elicit change, thereby improving the quality of their lives. A Mother of two small children, Cara feels passionately about educating families on health and wellness.
Cara maintains a healthy and active lifestyle with her partner and two young sons. Time with family is spent cycling, hiking, and ensuring they regularly get a health dose of nature and outdoor play.

Dr Emily McLaughlin BSc ND
Dr. Emily McLaughlin ND, holds a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University majoring in Kinesiology and Psychology. Emily is also certified in facial cosmetic acupuncture. During her studies, she was selected as an intern on the integrative cancer care focus shift. Along with cancer care, additional areas of interest include anxiety, digestion, pain, and sports medicine. Regardless of the health mysteries her patients experience, she is determined to find a solution that is congruent with her patients needs.
Emily believes that when people create an environment within and around themselves that is conducive to health, they achieve a state of optimal balance between health, work, and play. Emily’s ultimate goal is for each patient to rediscover aspects of their life that they have been less able to enjoy due to health challenges. This is achieved through the creation of an evidence-based treatment plan that is holistic and custom to each individual patient. She believes in empowering patients to be active members in their healthcare journey. Emily provides patients with knowledge and skills that can be used in day-to-day life, which helps to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness in both themselves and their loved ones.

Dawn Downie, RMT
Dawn is a Registered Massage Therapist since 2014. She is a regulated health care professional registered with the College of Massage Therapy and Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario. She shares a great passion for the profession and performs techniques tailored to each of her clients’ specific needs. Her vast knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and orthopaedic testing enables Dawn to identify her clients needs and recommend safe and effective treatment plans. Continuing education has been a primary focus of Dawn’s practice. This allows for such techniques as cupping, acupressure, and advanced joint mobilization to be applied during treatment. Dawn believes that massage therapy combined with exercise and a healthy lifestyle can reduce your pain and discomfort.
